The main idea of our design is simple. The mechanism of our electrical tricycle is simple too. The whole mechanism consists of 3 parts which are motor system, steering system and suspension system.
Motor
The motor is just simply installed with the wheel. The wheel and motor is provided. However, the motor is not workable. We have done some simple testing. We connected the motor to the electrical supply and the motor not connect to any loading. The motor did not work. So in this stage, the motor can not rotate. After we got the wheel, we though that the size of wheel is too large. This cause the height of the tricycle increased. This is out of our expectation at our design stage. We have to make the size of wheel smaller. In the final product, the height of the tricycle is satisfied.There is a control box to control the speed of the tricycle. The receiver of the control box is installed on the steering system and control by the driver.
Steering System
The design of the steering system is very simple. The original concept of our design is similar to the bicycle. The main net force to turn the tricycle is friction. The front wheel is the source of the force
Suspension System
The system consists of 4 parts which are spring, stick, holder and U-shape holder. The spring contributes for the function of suspension. It can compress and restore to original position to reduce the shock. The spring is held by a stick which the stick inserts to the spring. The stick has 3 different diameters. The different diameter has different function to the suspension system. The smallest diameter is used to insert to the spring. The middle part is used to hold the spring system. The longest part is connected to the wheel. The holder is used to hold the stick. This is the structure of the suspension system.

When the road is rough, the spring will compress. The energy is stored in the spring. Then the spring release energy. The passenger will experience less shock.
